Coopers hill is famous for the rather odd (and dangerous) Cotswold tradition of cheese rolling, where people hurl themselves down the hill, chasing a cheese!
This walk starts at the edge of Coopers Hill Nature Reserve and climbs up and past the famous cheese rolling landmark, where you can get a sense of just how steep it is. You then descend into the magical woodland where you can see carpets of bluebells in may and the beautiful aroma of wild garlic.
If you like woodland walks, especially if it’s a hot day and you want some shade, then this is a good walk for you. You also pass a small stream on this route as you walk a section of the Cotswold Way. Please be aware that there are some steep and uneven sections on this walk and it may get muddy at times. there is also a short section of road walking.

Great walk for the able bodied adult. Some quite steep and overgrown paths. Would have put 5 for enjoyability, but we went on a Monday and all refreshments were closed.

Lovely walk. A lot of walking through the woods which was great because it was a hot day and we welcomed the shade!

We really enjoyed this walk, there were a few steep bits but nothing too bad. We would do this walk again. The car park is small but it’s free.
