Get ready for the last of summer and find a walk to do in the sunshine that has just arrived. We have 100 walks for you to choose from in the beautiful county of Oxfordshire. Browse through our past posts to help you decide or visit our website: https://www.localwalks.co.uk/oxfordshire-walks.

This week’s leisurely walk is one to enjoy with the whole family.

Ok, this week’s walk may not have been photographed in sunny weather but I wanted to share it with you anyway. It is a wonderful walk to do if you want to enjoy meandering around two lovely Cotswold villages: Bledington and Kingham. This area is foodie heaven where you are spoilt for choice for wonderful places to eat after a delightfully easy walk. (You will probably have to book though as they are all very busy!)

To get the app and this walk visit https://www.localwalks.co.uk/oxfordshire-walks or search for 'Oxfordshire Walks' on your app store.

This 4 1/2 mile walk starts from Bledington, an attractive village situated in the Evenlode Valley and crossing part of the Oxfordshire Way. This scenic village has a lovely green and still retains its 15th century church and Victorian maypole. There is also a popular village pub ‘The King’s Head Inn’, voted Pub of the Year in the ‘Good Pub Guide 2018’.

The walk travels through fields and meadows in parts touching the Evenlode River and joining the Diamond Way for a short distance. On route you will travel through the delightfully peaceful village of Kingham which was once chosen 'England's Favourite Village’ by Country Life.

Set in the broad Evenlode Valley Kingham has a wide open village green at its northern end bordered by elegant stone houses and cottages, many dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. There is also an attractive village shop, a Norman church and seventeenth century rectory.

Kingham is also a foodie destination, with its two highly rated pubs, 'The Kingham Plough' and ‘The Wild Rabbit Inn’, and of course not far away the famous 'Daylesford Organic' - a must to visit. This ultra-chic shop is open all year round. You can choose from organic veg picked from the farm, admire the array of cheeses, meat and pies and then enjoy delicious coffee and homemade cake. Heaven!

We did this walk in an anti-clockwise direction.

Taking regular exercise outdoors amongst nature is good for both our mental and physical health at this time, but whilst out walking PLEASE remember to keep your distance from other walkers.

STAY ALERT - STAY SAFE
