Hatfield Forest Walks

We have 4 wonderful and varied Hatfield Forest walks ranging from a short family friendly stroll of 1.7 miles in length to a longer, more energetic trek of 6.9 miles.

Hatfield Forest Walk 1
1.7 miles
This is a short family friendly stroll around the wonderful Hatfield Forest. It's a short walk, but packs in some woodland, open parkland and lakeside walking to create a great varied walk for all the family.

Hatfield Forest Walk 2
2.3 miles
This second route is a slightly longer route that still enjoys the lake and woodland, but also takes you through the buttercup plains that turn into a wonderful sea of yellow in the spring.

Hatfield Forest Walk 3
4.3 miles
The third option is the walk for you if you have more time and really want to really explore the forest. It takes you on a big loop that covers most of the forest, visiting the lake and buttercup fields on the way.

Hatfield Forest Walk 4
6.9 miles
This is the longest route from Hatfield Forest and it is a varied walk of two halves. The first half explores the wonderful Hatfield Forest as with the other routes, but the second half of the walk instead ventures out into the open for a lovely walk in the pretty countryside to the east of Hatfield Forest (including a stroll along the Flitch Way disused railway line). Please note, there is around 500m of roadside walking on this route.
