Verulamium park walk
2.5 miles

This relaxed park and city pub walk is a mixture of lazy lakeside meandering and cultural discovery in the delightful city of Saint Albans. The walk starts with a long drifting stroll through the Verulamium park alongside the large and pretty lake and then up to the majestic Saint Albans cathedral which is well worth a visit. After this, it descends back down through the park until it turns into an historic journey of Roman discovery which begins when you encounter a free entry building that houses an impressive Roman Mosaic. It then takes you past the Verulamium Museum where you can pop in to find out about everything Roman for a small fee. After this, it takes you through the grounds of the pretty St. Michael's church and across the road to the site of the Roman Theatre remains, which again has a small entry fee. (At the time of publishing, you can ask for a ticket to the museum and the theatre together for a discounted rate). There are also some fantastic pubs on this route, making it a lovely day out for all the family! The Six Bells, St Albans The Rose & Crown, St Albans Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, St Albans
